THERAPY... FROM TRUST TO TRANSFORMATION
DIMENSIONSCOUNSELING
WHAT TO EXPECT
I specialize in marriage and couples counseling as well as treating anxiety and depression through the lens of trauma and attachment trauma. I am a skilled emotional translator and provide a safe, validating space for couples dealing with betrayal, loss of trust and ruptured emotional connection. I utilize a variety of approaches tailored to your specific issues and concerns as a couple; however I am primarily a Cognitive Behavioral therapist with training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method and Imago therapy. My approach identifies areas of communication breakdown leading to cycles of conflict while creating secure emotional bonds and exploring underlying emotions and attachment needs within the relationship. Fundamentally, I use strategies that work for my patients!
As an individual therapist, I approach our work together from a trauma-informed perspective. If you have suffered from anxious distress or depression, we will work together to understand the genesis of these symptoms, to bring healing, wholeness and to repair your sense of identity, possibility and self-worth. My research and training focuses on the role of attachment trauma in the presentation of anxiety and depression and I utilize cognitive behavioral, mindfulness and inner child work to assist my patients to flourish in their lives.
